Best Use of Space Category Winner: Margaret McGuigan

Margaret lives in central Takapuna in Auckland and has truly got the gardening bug. She looks forward to the weekend where she spends time planting, pruning and trying to squeeze more fruit, veges, flowers, pots and garden beds in her small backyard. It is currently a busy array of pots, hanging baskets and garden beds, each hosting a crop in varying stages of development. She has even managed to squeeze in a couple of chooks. Margaret has been inventive, creative and thrifty in using her space to create a practical and flourishing garden. Margaret is so enthusiastic about the ‘Grow your own’ movement she enrolled to a horticultural course at polytechnic to further develop her green-finger skills.
